With 1,600 restaurants in Montgomery County, we needed to create a magazine to inspire locals and visitors alike to satisfy their cravings and discover new dining experiences.
The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board’s Annual Luncheon is their biggest event of the year. For 2018, we decided to theme the event Reimagine, to celebrate the attractions around the county that were using their creativity and vision to raise the bar. We used a CMYK color palette to set an optimistic and magical mood. Animations of landmarks around the county being drawn to life conveyed the idea of the human imagination at work.
For the intro the the program, we worked with Blue Design to execute an idea for a video that would showcase this idea of attractions being illustrated to the sound of a cover of the Willy Wonka classic, “Pure Imagination".”
The event, which transformed the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks, had a record 600 attendees.

The constant challenge that we have recognized is evolving the content to be in line with modern consumer tendencies. Social media use has led to much shorter attention spans, so we moved away from longer articles to showcase the destination. Instead we focused on making photos and short blurbs inspire the potential traveler to want to discover more.
In 2017, we decided to pursue an idea that had been in the backs of our minds for awhile…what if we launched a mascot? The theme for that year’s National Tourism & Travel Week was faces of travel. It was almost too perfect!
That year, Montgomery “Monty” Fox made his debut. We initially launched him as a fun and interactive extension of our brand that would put smiles on the faces of children and adults alike, but we soon realized he opened up doors for new content opportunities with the University of Pennsylvania, Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies, Legoland, Elmwood Park Zoo, Septa, and the Philadelphia Flyers.

These projects are really about the culture of the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board. The business cards speak to the cutting-edge nature of the team and the quality of the destination. The employee handbook doesn’t just contain the organization’s policies and procedure, but defines it's culture with eight core values.
